Here is a four-word phrase that describes what I do and
where I am from: «Russian-American multimedia artist.”
I want to share with you what brough me to art and how my
upbringing and different life events influenced my art.
My experience as an interior designer is organically woven
into the representations that are meaningful to me, making
them extremely interesting and innovative.
This city is my first guide to the art world
I was born in Pyatigorsk, a picturesque mountainous town in the
south of Russia. This beautiful town with its reach culture and
history was my first guide into the work of art.
At a very young age I had a serious surgery on my leg. For 6
months I was confined to a small hospital room that had a tiny
window. My escape was my pencils and a sketchbook. They
became my portal into the outside world.
I view creativity as a continuous process. I am not afraid to
experiment, which led to me creating many works of art in different
styles and colors, using different type of material. Through this
artistic creative process, I examined the world around me and
understood it better.
When I immigrated to the United States, I was introduced into
construction business and later I opened my own business in this
industry.
Thanks to the support of my family, I was able to devote a lot of time
to creativity and organically weave art into the family business, where
my main occupation was the creation of unique interior solutions and
custom art for our clients.
As a child, I witnessed the collapse of the Soviet Union. It was very
difficult for me to live through the destruction of the usual life order
and seeing fates of millions of people change drastically. There was no
peace, no emotional comfort. The country and the people were at the
crossroad of the Eastern and Western cultures. But I can safely say
that obstacles on the way only strengthened my inner being
It is crucial for me to travel a lot because I get to know the most diverse people, cultures and myself.
I am a “citizen of the world.” That is how I feel
Pouring out my emotions on the canvas I felt really empowered. Compassion for
people, belonging to everyone helped me to determine the direction of my work.
My life and artistic experience became the basis of my work. The boldness of design
decisions and the desire to create new art is reflected in the design of even the most
challenge spaces.
I feel the breath of art in my ideas and put my soul into it.
The living space of a person defines them. Therefore, it is important for me to create
a unique design that not only suits the person but reflects their personality. I am
convinced that whatever you do you must do with passion. I love life and people, and
I try to convey that love through my art.
